This birding checklist includes 261+ species for which records and sight reports indicate at least some potential for occurrence in Brevard County in mid-November.

The number appearing in the first column after many of the bird species names is the number of teams which reported the species in the 1997 Flyway Festival – of twelve teams which reported totals of 57 or more species. The 1997 winning team had 159 species accepted by the judges.

The number appearing in the second column after many of the bird species names is the number of teams which reported the species in the 1998 Flyway Festival – of thirteen teams which reported totals of 75 or more species. The 1998 winning team had 163 species accepted by the judges

The number appearing in the third column after many of the bird species names is the number of teams which reported the species in the 1999 Flyway Festival – of eleven teams which reported totals of 61 or more species. The 1999 winning team had 165 species accepted by the judges. A total of 197 species were spotted by all of the teams.
