What Is the Birding Trail?**
Don't Miss This Historic Occasion!
Where: Sand Point Park, Titusville
When: Sunday, November 12, 2000; 12:30pm-4:00pm
The Great Florida Birding Trail is a project of the
Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission
* Afternoon Birding, Hayride at the Refuge
Accompany a Refuge Ranger on a hayride around Black Point Wildlife Drive and watch the bird show from an ideal vantage point. See huge flocks of wading birds and waterfowl fly right overhead. Take a slow ride through a Florida Paradise.
Continuous trips throughout the afternoon. FREE -- Meet at pavilion at Sand Point Park
Commemorative maps of the first section will be available beginning Nov. 12 at the groundbreaking, at Gateways, and by request on the Trail's Web site. In the summer of 2001, East Florida Trail guide books will be available at major booksellers throughout the state. All sites will eventually be marked with highway signs bearing the Trail's swallow-tailed kite logo.
Mission Statement: To conserve and enhance Florida's bird habitat by promoting birdwatching activities, conservation education and economic opportunity.
