The Childhood of Fishes of Mosquito Lagoon & the Indian River

Ray Mojica worked with Volusia County restoring wetlands within the Seashore before he went on to do research in the Bahamas. Join Ray and explore the childhood (larval and juvenile stages) of different fish that call the lagoon and surrounding areas home? Wear tie shoes and plan to get wet seining.

Bird Adaptations

Join our staff and have fun learning about the "migration headaches" and adaptations of migratory songbirds. This is a junior ranger program.

Do You Want to Be a Researcher?

Join doctorate student Gretchen Ehlinger to learn how she is investigating the decline of horseshoe crabs. She will also discuss the importance of horsecrabs to migratory waterbirds and humans. Take home a horseshoe crab model. Junior Ranger program but all are welcome.
