The Birding Competition is a 29-hour event for registered birding teams to accumulate a checklist of bird species in Brevard County, Florida.

Awards and prizes totaling over $15,000.00, including airline vouchers, Amtrak train vouchers, binoculars, ecotours and fine art; will be given out to winners in team categories ranging from experts to beginners, adults, and youths. The Grand Prize for the advanced adults category will be four Pentax spotting scopes.

The Competition Awards Ceremony will be held at Fox Lake Park – west of Titusville - on Sunday, November 17, 2002 starting at noon. There will be an old-fashioned Fish Fry with live entertainment, kayak and airboat rides. ( Registration is required and information is on the Festival Registration form.)

NOTE: After registration by a birding team, the team will receive a car pass that gives them access to the Seashore, Jetty Park and Sebastian Refuge for the purpose of counting birds. Those passes should not be used for any other purpose.
