Misidentified Thayer's Gull

Pelagic Trip
Our festival pelagic trip actually got out for the first time in 2 years. We added 3 new species to the cumulative festival bird list -- Audubon's shearwater, manx shearwater and greater shearwater -- no Cory's other than the two we released from a rehab facility. That was cause for concern since Cory's are the predominent bird we see on those November trips. Hundreds of Cory's washed up on our beaches during the hurricanes. Do you think it's possible that much of our fall/winter population of Cory's was depleted so badly by the storms that they're now that scarce?
